Just as we had thought we had been humbly instrumental in harmonizing for all time the conflicting elements in the First Judicial Circuit, here comes the Chronicle with George Brown's announcement for Circuit Judge against Jim King. And that is why we sorrow. George Brown has bad advisers. George Brown, uninfluenced, would never have stepped in front of posterity at such a crisis as this George Brown is as full of magnanimity and honor as a cocoanut of milk, and George Brown will one day thank us for repudiating and condemning this strange and unnatural freak of his friends, that gives us pain and does himself injustice.
