MAINE'S MURDER MYSTERY.

Cornish, Me., Aug. 23.—The lifeless body of Miss Olive Broad, an elderly woman who resided on the outskirts of this town, was found on Friday in a clump of bushes several feet from the road leading from the village to her home. Her skull was crushed and she had been several hours on the ground. The nature of the wound proved that the woman had been murdered, but beyond that fact the officers know very little about the case. There is no clue to the perpetrator of the deed. The murderer has not been apprehended, although the deputy sheriffs are tracking several suspects and have made an arrest. The adjourned coroner's inquest was held this morning and several witnesses were examined.
