Old Headquarters in New York Selected; Taft Speaks in September.
New York—Frank H. Hitchcock, chairman of the Republican national committee, has selected quarters for the committee in the Metropolitan Life building here, which has been the local headquarters in the last two national campaigns.
George R. Sheldon, treasurer of the committee, conferred with the chairman during the day and aided in the selection of the new headquarters.
Mr. Hitchcock left Tuesday to consult Mr. Sherman, Republican candidate for vice-president. The active presidential campaign will be inaugurated on August 1, when the committee will open their headquarters here.
