Accident By Dog Owner Is Liable

A dog who chases a vehicle and thereby causes an accident will make the owner liable, according to Chief of Police Vickery.

He further stated that no dogs are to run loose unless in the company of their owners, or under control at all times.

The Chief further stated the new State traffic safety responsibility law, which went into effect September 1, requires that anyone involved in an accident is to report the accident, whether damages amount to $200 or less or $200 or more. There are separate forms in each case.
