On Thursday last, Mr. J. P. Hyde was elected Mayor of Harrisonburg, by a vote of 192 against 132 for Chas. A. Yancy, Esq. Geo. S. Christie was elected Treasurer, over B. E. Long and L. W. Gambill, polling more votes than both of his competitors. A. J. Nicholas was elected Sergeant almost unanimously.— Pendleton Bryan, Recorder; D. H. VanPelt, Assessor, and the following Councilmen: Sam'l Shacklett, W. C. Harrison, S. R. Sterling, A. B. Irick, Jno. Paul, W. N. Gay, J. T. Logan, Jacob Gassman and Wm. McAlister.
