ARIZONA GUARDS TO GO AFTER U. S. TITLE
"We are going after first place."
Nothing short of this will satisfy Walter S. Ingalls, adjutant general, who looks forward to having Arizona national guardsmen take highest honors at the national rifle matches to be held in Camp Perry, Ohio, August 27 to September 30. The elimination shoot will be held in Phoenix in August and it is expected that it will bring men to the city from each organization. It is known at present that 40 Phoenix guardsmen, 10 in Tucson and 15 in Williams are eager to make the team, which is composed of 14 men—10 men in the team, two alternates, a captain and coach.
Major E. S. Linton, commander of the first battalion, 158th Infantry, will be the captain and Sergeant Newhall of Phoenix will act as coach.
