John Woodman and Wm. Tibbets were apprehended and taken before R.C. Shannon, Esq. for having passed counterfeit money in this town. On their being searched there was found counterfeit bills of the Coos, Albany, Vermont, Amherst, Maine, Nantucket & Smithfield banks to the amount of 589 dollars, 250 of which were fifty cent bills of the Amherst bank. Tibbets said he belonged to Shapleigh, M and Woodman said that he lived in Wakefield, N. H.
