Thursday last John Woodman and Wm. Tibbets were apprehended, and taken before R.C. Shannon, Esq. for having passed counterfeit money in this town—On their being searched there was found of the Coos, Albany, Vermont, Amherst, Maine, Nantucket & Smithfield banks, counterfeit bills to the amount of 589 dollars, 250 of which were fifty cent bills of the Amherst bank.

Said Woodman and Tibbets were committed to prison, to have their trial at the next S. P. Court for the county of Rockingham.

Tibbets said he belonged to Shapleigh, M and Woodman said that he lived in Wakefield, N. H.
