Clarence Thurber Re-elected to the Position which He Filled During Successful Season of 1910.
Clarence I. Thurber of Brattleboro has been re-elected captain of the Colgate football team. Thurber was chosen captain this fall when it was found that the captain previously elected was unable to return to college. During the past season Colgate rolled up a total of 146 points to 10 for their opponents. Colgate was defeated only by Trinity and Yale by small scores, but tied Brown university, rolled up 51 points against Middlebury, defeated Rochester university, and won the big game of the season from Syracuse university 16-0. Colgate was accorded eleventh place in the ranking of the eastern elevens. Thurber has played three years on the Colgate eleven and was given a high rating this fall in the picking of tackles for the inter-sectional teams.
Mr. Thurber is a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Thurber. He graduated from the Brattleboro high school in 1908 and was a teacher two years before entering Colgate. His older brother, J. Melvin Thurber, played four years as tackle on the Colgate football eleven.
