Full Text
From my childhood
To ramble forth through
Zion
And o'er the mountains
Of Liberty.
Red and downy
Flower
It being
got home! but yesterday:
Could have reasoned to the
Cherished in my
Breast
Wild delusion,
Thus when I behold
Zion
My native
Mountain,
Pittam.
In despair and I
Would
Yet.
At random write
With young
Head
Between me and
My
Gate
Live
Lad
In fair forms, tongue
Tommy
Spirit
the
Sitteth the great
Hour,
When
Should
Marry
Bare.
To us
It.
Among
My
Own
Sworn
Forest.
A bit less
Little
Thought
That house would be with sorrow
That in one
Blank the
Hope round
My soul so long had dreamed to
the
Light
My sister's cheek was bright and
Fair:
My brother's heart was
Warm and
True:
The willow sweeps the hillock
Yet
They sleep together in one
grave
And
Many
a morning dew
Basks
The
grass
Above my
Liberty
Head.
Sis and where no blade has ever
Mother sleeps: - God
Rest her
Rite:
And she the flower's and
Pride
Which mingled in the moonlight
My first love in stranger's
Hall:
I met her cold and careless
glance
But thanks to
Heaven for that one
She knew me? -- no
Feature of the last time
Born.
Upon my dark and eerie
Face
Thus to my childhood's home I came,
A stranger -- knowing yet unknown,
Heard many a well remember'd name,
Breath'd only to the dead my own,
No kindred now with man I claim,
But in the wide world stand alone
My boat is on the beach below.
My bark is on the sea white foam.
One song from thee before I go,
But not of home oh not of Home:
Northern Frontier something cold
To ramble forth through
Zion
And o'er the mountains
Of Liberty.
