Extract of a letter from a gentleman in Spain, to his friend in Philadelphia.

" The loss of General Galvez is much regretted here; the distinguished character of that great man, has placed his memory equal, if not above, any hero of his age. His amiable lady, the Countess de Galvez, is provided for by the King, and embarks with her children from the Havanna in a new ship of 120 guns for this place. By late accounts from New-Orleans the agriculture and commerce of that country is in a flourishing state, under the direction of Governor Miro, and Don Martin Navaro, Intendant General of the province, whose exertions and abilities in that department do honor to their country."
