A Ministerial Association was organized at a Monday-morning meeting in the United Protestant church this week, it was announced today by Rev. Victor Alfsen. The group announced it was dedicated to a threefold purpose: (1) the promotion of the Gospel, (2) the promotion of wholehearted cooperation between ministers and churches of the Valley, (3) the promotion of moral and civic welfare.
A four-point doctrinal statement was adopted and officers of the Association were named. Reverend Alfsen was elected chairman, and Reverend Sanford Davis of the Valley Children's Home was named secretary-treasurer.
Charter members of the Ministerial Association included: Rev. George Giewitz of the Valley Chapel Church of God, Rev. George Savchenko of the Church of God Full Gospel, Rev. Wenter Harvey of The Church, Rev. Kenneth Hughes of the Lazy Mountain Children's Home, Reverend Davis and Reverend Alfsen.
The Association plans monthly meetings, at a meeting place to be designated later.
