Full Text
The Annexation of Texas a "Humbug!"--In a recent number of the Whig we perceive our neighbor has used the term "humbug" in reference to the wise and salutary measure of annexation. We must say that we have too much charity to believe he is sincere--that he cannot think a measure so calculated to advance the prosperity and greatness of our country a "humbug!" His persistence in applying that term to it is only like the truthful jockey who declared that the horse was sixteen feet high and stood to it.
