According to advices received at Fairbanks today by wireless, the flu epidemic has reached Circle, oldtime mining town on the Yukon. The situation has not reached a serious stage yet, but there are several cases and the isolated residents are preparing for the worst. Announcement is made that a quarantine has been established to prevent further travel toward Circle, but it is considered doubtful if the action was taken in time to prevent a run of the epidemic throughout the town. Circle also reports the death of Mike Melich, of Fairbanks, at Miller House, on the Fairbanks-Circle trail where he was taken down with the epidemic. It is supposed that he was unable to receive proper attention and contracted pneumonia.
