Newcastle, October 15. A few days ago, as the Bishop of Chester was on his journey from London, he observed, on the road, a person, who had the appearance of a Clergyman, carrying a small bundle on his shoulder. The Bishop ordered his carriage to stop, and enquired of the stranger who and what he was? He acquainted his Lordship that he was a Clergyman who had been obliged to abandon his living in America, after suffering a variety of persecution, &c. The Bishop immediately took him into his carriage, heard all the particulars of his story, brought him down to Chester, and has now placed him in the Church, with an income of £60 per annum.
