The Globe has a way of complimenting Tylerism that seems to us a good deal less polite than honest. In its last paper; after abusing the Whigs for their victory in 1840, it speaks of its own party and the Tylerites as follows:

"And what would be justly thought of the morality of the party that sinks under this accumulated iniquity, if it were (at the moment it has begirt itself to vindicate its honest cause) to take by the hand--take to its bosom--the meanest offenders in this unhallowed business--those who toiled and worked to secure the subordinate stations to be bought with such infamy, and who, by accident having reached the highest, show their gratitude and treachery by warring against their more respectable friends, and display their emboldened facility to corruption by offering to those on whom they made war the wages of iniquity, in patriotic resolution to betray the cause of their country
