The following most ungracious denial appears in the last Boston Patriot:

" The Washington Gazette declares that Judge Story controls the Salem Register, and would seem to insinuate that he wrote certain able articles concerning Mr. Adams, lately appearing in that paper. We can safely assure the public, that Judge Story has no influence over the Register, and did not write the articles alluded to. They were written by a trusty Democrat, a plain dealing, disinterested politician, and who would neither sell himself to the Essex Junto, nor toast Timothy Pickering nor Old England."
