Returns to Answer Charges: Former Resident of Americus Detained Here.

Upon instructions from the authorities at Cartersville, a young man of that city and former resident of Americus was detained by the police upon arrival here a day or two ago, a misdemeanor charge being preferred against him. Yesterday habeas corpus proceedings were instituted to secure his release, but the hearing was deferred until Saturday. Rather than await here the proceedings, the defendant agreed to return to Cartersville with Officer Satterfield, who came here for him, the two leaving last night.
