Junior Band and Orchestra Are to Be Heard—Public Is Invited
Directed by C. Robert White and Miss Merle Janice Schroeder, instrumental and vocal instructors of the Juneau Public Schools, a concert will be presented Friday evening by the Junior band and orchestra.
The program will begin at 8 o'clock and is to be held in the Grade School auditorium. The public is invited.
Following is the program:
Marches—“Stepping Along,” “Spirit of Victory,” “Campus Glory,” by Junior Orchestra-Band
Duet—Damaris Davis, Audrey Thompson “Bendemeer's Stream,” Irish folk song; “Texas Stampede Song,” American cowboy song; “Home on the Range,” American cowboy song, by Junior High School boys.
“Honor Salute,” march; Largo “New World Symphony,” Dvorak; “Melody in F,” Rubenstein; Volga Boatman, Russian folk song, Junior Orchestra-Band.
“It Was a Lover and His Lass,” English folk song; “When I Was Seventeen,” Swedish folk song; “Do Not Care,” Hungarian folk song, by Junior High School girls.
Theme from “D Minor String Quartet” Schubert, by clarinet ensemble.
“Three Drummer Boys,” French folk song; “Keep in the Middle of the Road,” Negro spiritual, by combined groups.
“Top Flight,” march; “Liebestraume,” Liszt; “Merry Widow Waltz,” Lehar; In the Ballroom, waltz, by Junior Orchestra-Band.
