A letter from John D. Argetsinger, district engineer for Alaska, dated March 17, which was in reply to a telegram from Mayor Eugene N. Lanier, states definitely that the proposed North End sewer project, as applied for by the City Council, will not be considered by the Office of General Services Administration before the next fiscal year, beginning July 1, 1950.
Mr. Argetsinger does state, however, that the application will receive early consideration next year providing that Congress appropriates funds to allow substantial programs during the next year.
It was not possible to secure the engineering data necessary to the application for the sewer project in time to meet the deadline of Jan. 31, 1950.
