Oscar Cook Beyond Reprieve of Man
United Press.
CANON CITY, Colo., Feb. 26.
Oscar Cook, aged 29, was hanged at the state prison here this morning.
Cook murdered two men in a Denver saloon in 1912 during a hold-up of the place.
Cook's last words were:
"I am not for this world, I am going with my God."
He was unusually calm.
Governor Carlson rejected an eleventh hour attempt to secure a reprieve for the condemned man.
His sister jumped crying into the Governor's auto in Pueblo, making a last desperate effort to save the life of her brother.
