The U. S. Atomic Energy Commission in Washington announced Wednesday night that the Russians had set off their fourth atmospheric blast early Wednesday in an area east of Stalingrad.

The AEC said the fourth test blast had a low to intermediate power yield, making it about the same size as the second and third Soviet test explosions. The first was a larger size.
