Among Atlanta's most unique business ventures is the University John Hope Homes Co-Op Grocery Store, catering to the people of the university area and the Atlanta metropolitan area.

Located at 664 Fair Street S.W., the store was opened a little more than two years ago. During this period it has emerged as one of the most up to date and best stocked stores in the vicinity. According to Wesley Jackson, manager, the store enjoys a large volume of trade from the two housing projects, while during recent months, people are beginning to come from other sections of the city to trade.

Mr. Jackson, whose interest in co-operative buying is not at all new that people take greater interest in the co-op movement and be ready to enjoy returns through patronage

with competing stores in the vicinity and the Atlanta metropolitan area. Opened two years ago, the store enjoys city-wide patronage from customers who have learned that buying from the co-op pays in large dividends. Wesley Jackson is manager of the store.-(Adair Photo),

The store is well stocked with choice meats, fresh vegetables and a wide assortment of national brand goods, and other items not to be found in other stores in the community. People who frequent the store relish its low prices, its rapidly turnover in perishable items and courteous attention from clerks.

The Co-op is one of the few stores in Atlanta, completely owned and staffed by colored. Even though located in a predominantly colored section of Atlanta, it also enjoys the patronage of both races.

Its influence in the community is definitely being felt through trade, low prices and superior service.
