STOLE WHEAT AND SOLD IT
Nine Boys Arrested and They Squeal on a Storekeeper.

For some time the Liberty mills have been missing several sacks of wheat nightly from their cars, which were standing on the track along the elevator beside the mills. Complaint was made to police headquarters and Officer Matthews laid in wait and was soon rewarded by seeing nine small boys with long wire hooks and sacks appear on the scene. The boys would adjust their sacks along the car and pull the wheat out, thus securing a sackful in a short time. He nabbed the boys and placed them under arrest. From the boys it was learned that they would find ready buyers for the wheat at a certain store.

The information gained from the boys led to the arrest of the storekeeper, who was charged with receiving and concealing stolen property. At the station the grocer was released on a $250 bond. The case will be aired before Judge Shardein in the Corporation court Monday morning.
