The State House at Frankfort was destroyed by fire, as reported in the Kentucky Commentator of the 6th inst. The building, built in 1816, measured 100 feet front by 60 deep, and was among the first edifices in the western country, chiefly funded by voluntary contributions from citizens of Frankfort and vicinity.
