before thro' more right bravery thro' thy
long and bloody fray,
on our country
bay
beyond
in our sons to-day
history of their
saint:
the meads
that cover Earth's fair bosom
now
funeral grounds;
fields of terror
stoop to
our
lost sons have been bedded in it
But those who fell in such a cause cannot
die.
Now that the white-robed angel Peace,
her olive
branch has spread,
And our fair land resounding once more to labor's
peaceful tread.
