Full Text
It is proposed by the "Richmond Whig" that Delegates from each County or Congressional district meet at the White Sulphur Springs, the 20th of August next, for the purpose of conferring on the subject of the candidacy for the next Presidency. We think the running of more than one candidate on the part of the opposition would be impolitic. If Mr. Van Buren is to be beaten, it must be done at the polls, and not in the House of Representatives. Should we be encumbered with two or three candidates the result may be very readily and very certainly anticipated.
