J. L. LASSETER, CHAIRMAN OF ATTENDANCE COMMITTEE, ARRANGES FOR SPLENDID AFFAIR.
With the purpose in view of bringing about a closer co-operation and increased membership, the Men's Bible Class of the First Baptist church will entertain a Get-Together banquet on the evening of Friday March 4, the place to be announced later.
J. L. Lasseter, local manager for Armour & company, who heads the committee arranging for the occasion, announces that the principal speaker of the occasion will be among the most prominent and influential men in the state. Mr. Lasseter has a strong committee working with him. R. E. Harris, Jake Sheppard, E. B. Mann, J. L. Epps, W. I. Harris, E. B. Calloway, W. H. Chapman, R. R. Harris, J. J. Clements, C. E. Brown, R. B. Killen, Wayne Fant.
These comprise the attendance committee for the class during the current month.
The attendance committee during the past month, headed by S. M. Watson, brought the average attendance throughout the month up to 173, and the largest attendance for the month was on Sunday before the last, when 200 were present at the singing contest. The outgoing committee has challenged the new committee to excel their record in bringing up the attendance upon the class and the banquet to be held is one of the features arranged in an effort to bring about a closer cooperation among the members of the class and make the average attendance the largest yet had.
