Full Text

Late reports indicate that the Democracy carried Connecticut by local quarrels among Republicans, and the eternal fight between the two capitals of the State, Hartford and New Haven. The New Haven District elected a Republican to Congress by six hundred majority and gave the Democratic State ticket over five thousand majority more than its official majority in the whole State. The Republican candidate for Governor had been mixed up in some way with a project to have but one State Capital and that one not at New Haven.
