PHOENIX, Ariz. (ANP) Negroes who fail to register and vote regularly betray those heroic men and women in the south today, who in the face of bombs, night-riders and economic reprisals are steadily and relentlessly pushing forward the battle for effective democracy in American life, said the Rev. Frederick D. Jordan here recently.
The Rev. Jordan, minister of renowned First African Methodist Episcopal Church, 8th and Towne, Los Angeles, California, and energetic civic leader, was the annual Men's Day speaker at Tanner Chapel yesterday.
Tracing the history of the Negro's struggle in America, the speaker pointed out Richard Allen's decisive contribution to the emancipation of the religious life of his people.
