Business Men's Prayer Meeting. - There has been rather a slim attendance at the Business Men's Prayer Meeting at the last two meetings, the weather being unpropitious. A well-known minister arose and stated that God was indeed a prayer-answering God, and in proof of this assertion he related an instance of a female who, a few months since, appeared on the verge of the grave. He had presented her case to this meeting; prayers had been offered for her recovery, if it was in accordance with the will of God, and she was now a healthy woman. He spoke of a man from Virginia, now in this city, whose constitution was so impaired by a cancer that his case was hopeless, and all that remained for Christians to do was to pray for his soul. He then offered up a prayer in his behalf, notwithstanding the regulations that no one shall speak and pray at the same meeting.

Several gentlemen present urged the necessity of holding prayer meetings in certain godless portions of our city, and one minister announced his determination, as soon as cool weather commenced, to hold them in all the dark and degraded portions of the city. (We would suggest that the best field for a beginning would be on the corner of Sixth and Culvert-streets.)

Prayers were then offered for several penitents, when the benediction was pronounced.
