CORN NEEDS TIME:
SOME NOT OUT OF DANGER

Fully fifty per cent of the corn needs time to ripen in this locality! Such, anyway, seems to be the consensus of opinion on the matter.

Killing frost would mean a loss of many dollars to farmers in this region.

Several light frosts have occurred but have caused no damage due probably to the dryness of the season. However, since the rain many eyes are cast heavenward in the evening as anxious farmers scan the moon and clouds in an effort to predict the night's weather.

Where corn was planted early, farmers have started cutting the crop.
