Full Text

Gen. Sherman and ex-Gov. Davis, of Texas, have had some sharp talks, by letter, on the subject of Davis' pardon of the Kiowa chiefs.

We rather like to see "high" officials brought to view in favor of the white frontiersmen. In this particular case we think Gen. Sherman right in sticking to the idea that the murderous chiefs alluded to ought to have been hung, instead of pardoned. We go further and state that one-half of all the wild Indians in the country would be benefited by a little judicious hanging.
