It a Meeting of the School Board Tuesday Afternoon.
The members of the Skowhegan School Board met Tuesday afternoon and elected teachers for the ensuing year with the exception of the Principal of the High school, whose choice requires the action of the trustees of Bloomfield Academy as well as that of the school board. E. A. Parker was elected sub-master and teacher of sciences and mathematics; Miss Dorothy Elliott, languages and English; Miss Blanch Emory, languages and English; Miss Dora Pederson, commercial course; Mrs. Ethel Hight, grade 9; E. W. Ochampaugh, supervisor of Manual training; Elmer E. Towne, Music; Miss Edith Patten, Drawing. The rest of the teachers are practically re-elected in the village and rural schools, although Mrs. Irene Turner has resigned her position as teacher in the Grade 3. It is possible that the Bigelow Hill and Snow district schools will not be opened, owing to the lack of pupils. None of the High School pupils have as yet chosen the subject of Agriculture for study the coming year, so the election of a teacher to fill that position was deferred.
