2 Men Caught Under Debris Resulting from Collapse of Concrete Wall Excavation
Third Man Escapes with Slight Injuries - Incident Investigated
CARTERET, Sept. 29.— Two were instantly killed and one slightly injured, when they were caught under the debris resulting from the collapse of a concrete wall near which they were excavating shortly before noon on Saturday at the plant of the U. S. Metals Refining company, this borough.
The dead are:
Antonio Gomes, forty-six years old, of 46 Union street.
Frank Stosick, thirty-three years old, of 206 Railroad avenue.
According to a statement today from the offices of the company works, Gomes and Stosick were engaged in digging a ditch for a building at the plant.
