NEW-PORT, (R. I.) November 4.
Extract of a letter from Capt. Samuel Chace, late master of the ship Ascension, dated October 20.
I am now on board an English Letter of Marque schooner, bound for New-York. Have only time to inform you, that the ship Ascension has been condemned at Dominica, stock and fluke, together with all my own property and that of my owners-- the above ship was taken by the British frigate Amphitrite; Charles Elkins, commander, and adjudicated by one Matson, judge of the admiralty courts, who admitted an humble appeal.
