Full Text

Albany, October 10.

The trial of Hamilton occupied the court the whole forenoon of yesterday. The crowd of spectators were so great that the court adjourned their session to the assembly chamber.—The proof of guilt admitted of no doubt. The charge of the judge was full and explicit, and the jury were out but a short time, when they returned with a verdict of Guilty. The defence by Mr. Williams was most ingenious, and in his usual style; and had there been but a single doubt on which to predicate a defence the eloquence of the counsel would, we have no doubt, have gone very far to induce the jury to have returned a verdict of not guilty.
