SALEM, October 8.

We hear from Cape-Ann, as what may be depended upon, that some Time ago, a Cow, attempting to swim across a Mill-Pond while a Grist-Mill was going, was drawn through the Gate, carried down a board Flume, near sixty Feet, till she came to the Fall, which is about twelve Feet; then down the Fall under the great Water Wheel, which is an open Wheel with board Floats,---struck out two Floats, went thro' the Wheel, and came out below the Mill. She was taken out of the Water, and though somewhat bruised, yet there was not a Bone broken; but soon recovered, and gave afterwards on the same Day, ten Quarts of Milk and continued well ever since.
