OVER 7,000 HOMELESS

FROM FLOODS IN MEXICO

Washington, June 30.- Between 7,000 and 8,000 people are homeless in the vicinity of Leon, Mexico, from the disastrous floods of the last week, and money and clothing are necessary to prevent suffering, American vice consul Eli Taylor reported to the state department after an investigation of conditions.

There is also danger of an epidemic, Taylor reported. There is, however, no shortage of food.

Taylor said the number of dead is unknown, but from other sources the state department was advised the casualties would be between 500 and 1,000.
