"Extremes Meet."

The Anti Slavery Convention, held at Boston, last week, denounced Kossuth, in strong terms because he failed to side against the slaveholders, and also for the sentiments of admiration he had expressed at the military glory the American soldiers had acquired in the war with Mexico.

On the other side, we observe that the City Council of Louisville have decided by a unanimous vote, not to invite Kossuth to partake of the hospitalities of that city or even to visit it! The reasons for such a vote are too manifest to need explanation.

If anything were wanting to convince the intelligent portion of the American people-those possessing enlarged and liberal views-that the great Hungarian is about right, it would be the opposition of the two fanatical extremes we have noticed-Chicago Tribune.
