FROM THE PHILADELPHIA GAZETTE.
If the censures of the English press have given offence to the court of Buonaparte, is it not natural to suppose, that the same effect will be produced, by the bold and unqualified abuse which teems in the American prints? Will not a similar effort be made in this country? And in what manner, will our administration meet the application? The democratic papers, those which are deemed the official organs of our government, have been foremost and loudest in their slander, of the first consul, and of his form of government. Is it to be expected, when Buonaparte descends to complain of the acts of unauthorized individuals in England, that he will tamely overlook the violences of those in America; who boast of "breathing the breath" of the executive?
