On Friday last the Governor sent the following Message to both Houses of Assembly:
Gentlemen of the Council, and of the House of Representatives,
HAVING received discretionary Leave from the King to go to England, I think it proper to acquaint you with this Instance of his Majesty's most gracious Condescension, and that I intend to avail myself of it as soon as his Service will admit.
I must desire you to give all the Dispatch possible to such necessary publick Business as may yet lie before you; for I must soon, by an Adjournment or Prorogation, give the Court a Recess, that I may attend to that Preparation for my Voyage which his Majesty's Service and my personal Affairs require.
