Miss Ballard Speaks
At Nurses Meeting

Miss Adele Ballard of the social welfare nursing service, San Francisco, Calif., was principal speaker Tuesday night at the district meeting of the Graduate Nurses association held at the McAllen Municipal hospital.

Miss Ballard, who is surveying this territory, spoke on the work and stressed the need of a social worker in the Valley for unprivileged children under school age.

She stated, however, that conditions were no worse in the Valley than other places over the central United States she has visited.

Miss Gayle Inseeness is in charge of this work in the upper Valley.

Mrs. Fred Auer, McAllen, president, had charge of the business session, attended by 22 members.

Next meeting will be held in Mercedes on November 20, when election of officers will be held.
