NEW YORK, Jan. 9. (ANP)-- A conference between Negro leaders and President Truman at a date in the near future was planned here at a meeting in the Hotel Theresa.
In a discussion of the national emergency at a special meeting, Negroes met to talk over immediate problems affecting the American Negro during the present world crisis.
Result of this meeting was a proposal to seek a conference with President Truman at the White House at an early date. A cross section of American Negro leaders are to attend this meeting:
Present at the Hotel Theresa: Lester Granger, executive secretary, National Urban League;
Miss Patricia Roberts, assistant director, American Council on Human Rights; Ashley L. Cotton, international secretary-treasurer, Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters.
