NEW YORK, JUNE 25.
The schooner Aurora, Bliffens, which sailed from this port in March last, for Pernambuco, returned yesterday with her outward cargo, having been turned off that port by the Portuguese blockading squadron, on the 13th May last. Capt. Bliffens learnt nothing of the state of the revolution. The force which he observed off Pernambuco, consisted of three vessels of war. The commander of the squadron ordered Capt. Bliffens to go on board the sloop of war with his papers. When on board, Capt. B. was informed that Pernambuco was in a state of blockade, and that he could not enter. It was further observed, that the Aurora could enter at St. Salvador, or any other ports to the windward, but that the ports to the leeward were all blockaded.
About twenty days before the Aurora arrived off Pernambuco, several whalemen had touched off that port to water, but were not permitted to go in.
The commander of the sloop of war informed Capt. Bliffens that the port was full of American and British vessels.
