The Normal school continued its sessions this morning. The first subject of instruction was in oral sounds of letters and syllables, etc.
In physiology, food stuff's were treated of: their qualities and effects on the human organization
In Botany the different parts of plants and their various offices in the economy of nature.
In Natural Philosophy the lessons of instruction were on motive power. resistance, illustration of motion, etc.
In Zoology, birds, their construction. habits and modes of flight.
We give below the names of all the teachers, with the exception of one or two who have been in regular attendance since the opening of the school :
Ida M. Williams, Union county : M. F Kelsey, Pulaski county; Mark McKee, Nannie McKee, Martha J. Gordon, Elias M. Glasgow, Alexander county : Wm. J. Finch, P. E. Brown, Goose Island.
Belonging to Cairo : Mrs. P. H. Taylor, Fannie E. Lyon, Helena Pyatt, Bibbee Crowley, Landonia Williams, (colored, first time.) Ella Purcell, Miss Yocum, Maggie Aubrey, Alice M. Lana, Sarah Hawkins, and Sidney Miller. Anna E. Hanston, Massac county.
