Circuit Court of the U. States for the district of Virginia. The circuit court of this district commenced its sitting on Friday last, and adjourned on Wednesday. Chief Justice Marshall and the district Judge (Potter) presided. General R. Taylor, of Norfolk, appeared in several of the cases brought up for trial, and was listened to with all the attention which his high reputation claimed, and which his learning, genius, and eloquence secured. In the following prize causes, the court pronounced an opinion in--

The private armed schooner Roger, of Norfolk, versus the ship Fortuna and cargo. In this case, the court below had condemned the ship and cargo, as the property of Bennet and Co. of London, but restoration was claimed on behalf of Martin and J. Kreus, of Riga, in Russia. The decree of the circuit court was affirmed, except as to a single barrel of coffee, belonging to a Swedish captain. But an appeal has been taken by the claimants, to the supreme court of the U. States, at Washington.

The Private Armed schr. Herald, vs. the Friend-Ship, Appeal from the district court. That part of the decree allowing further proof before final judgment by the circuit court, was reversed as to the brig, her tackle, apparel, boats, &c. &c. but affirmed as the title of F. J. Moreira to a part of the cargo, and also as to the condemnation of the remaining part of the cargo.

The Harrison, vs. goods captured. Appeal from the district court. Decree affirmed condemning part of said goods.

Privateer Roger, vs. the Isabella (under Spanish colours) This case was continued for further proof, each party having leave to produce testimony.

Privateer Herald, vs. the Antonio Johanna. In this case, the decree, condemning part of the cargo, was affirmed; and an appeal by the captors taken to the supreme court.

An order has been made for holding the Circuit Court of the United States for the future in the State-House:
