Full Text

The Election In Laurens.—Joseph Crews, one of the commissioners of election, claims to have canvassed the Laurens vote. If such was the case, it is not known when the board of canvassers organized, who constituted it, who acted as secretary, &c., as required by law. The managers of the Lyon's box failed to return it, and at that box the Reform party had some 200 majority. The law requires that statements of all matters of the canvassing shall be made out in writing, and that within ten days from the Tuesday after the election a copy shall be filed in the Clerk's office of the County. This has not been done. The place where the board of canvassers was organized was not even known, and no opportunity afforded for filing any protest. We do not believe any County board of canvassers was ever organized, and the announcement of the result of the vote of this County is a bolder fraud than the election itself. [Laurensville Herald.
