Wet Snow Falls In Poplar Area; Halts Farm Work

The seven to eight inches of wet snow which fell in the Poplar area Wednesday stopped for the time being all wheat seeding activity in the region.

Some farmers have already completed seeding their 1954 crop and many more would have been done by the end of the week if the weather had remained good.

The wet snow will give the wheat crop a good start and help to put range grass off to an early start. While most farmers were well satisfied with the moisture, many wished it could have held off until more of the spring wheat crop was in the ground.
