THE LATE M. H. JACKSON
The Maynard H. Jackson Memorial Scholarship Fund, initiated two weeks ago by Dr. R. Julian Smith, Pastor of the Mt. Moriah Institutional Baptist Church now has $250 in scholarship fund on hand and $100.00 in pledges. This scholarship fund was proposed by Dr. Smith to perpetuate the memory of the late Rev. Maynard H. Jackson. Pastor of the Friendship Baptist Church. Other leading pastors of the city who were out of the city when Dr. Jackson passed are pledging full support toward the scholarship fund. The scholarship fund now has the following ministers-constituting the official staff, they are: Dr. R. Julian Smith, Chairman; Dr. Emory R. Searcy. Pastor of the Greater Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Corresponding Secretary; Rev. Benjamin W. Bickers, Pastor of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, South Atlanta, Recording Secretary; Dr. L. M. Terrill, Pastor of the Zion Hill Baptist Church, Treasurer. All ministers and friends of the late Maynard H. Jackson and his family interested in contributing to this scholarship fund are requested to make all checks payable to the Maynard Jackson Memorial Scholarship Fund and mail to the treasurer, Dr. L. M. Terrill, 151 Chicamauga Place, S. W., Atlanta, Ga. or to the Corresponding Secretary, Dr. E. R. Searcy. 375 Cain Street, N. E., Atlanta, Ga. All contributions will be published and the names of all deserving boys and girls receiving scholarships from the Maynard H. Jackson Scholarship Fund will also be published.
