The Domestic's Own Problem

Before any girl allows herself to be drawn away from her country home because of flattering offers of higher wages in the city, she should consider well the cost of the change. There are other things more valuable than wages; other questions more important than money making.

The help which girls may be to their mothers, the privilege of spending the entire Sabbath in the service of the Lord and worshipping with people "of like precious faith," and freedom from the great temptations of city life should all be considered ahead of the wage question. Many young women, like young men, have been lured away from home by prospects of making money easily, only to find themselves entrapped by some of Satan's snares and robbed of all that is dear to a noble heart.
